Continuing its war against drugs under the supervision of SSP Ramban Anita sharma, Banihal police achieved a major success when an interstate drug peddler was arrested and 850 kg bhukki was recovered at T chowk banihal and an interstate drug smuggler was arrested .
According to SSP Ramban, acting on a specific information, a special naka was laid at T chowk banihal and one truck coming from Valley side bearing Registration No, Jk02AN 45 was stopped and put to thorough search at railway crossing banihal. During search , 31 bags of poppy straw like substance was recovered. On questioning, the driver was identified as..Harjinder Singh s/o Avtar chand teh phillour distt jalandhar.... accordingly case FIR No. 69/2019 u/s 8 /15 stands registered at PS Banihal.It is pertinent to mention here that Banihal police has achieved a major success in war against drugs and so far 15kg charas 25 quintal bhukki 30 kg herione(chitta) have been seized this year so far.The arrest and recovery was effected by Insp Aejaz Ahmed Wani and his team under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar .Further investigation is in progress to work out the links and break the nexus which has resulted in corroding the future of young generation .
